Hey everyone, my paint doesn't work anymore! When I try
to open it it says "MS Paint has experienced a problem
and needs to close" Paint is one of my essential programs
that I need because I design Websites and I need it to
draw graphics! Can anyone resolve my problem? E-mail Me.
Thank-you

If you're not confident about editing the registry, get someone to assist you.

Make sure that there are no instances of MSPaint running.

Then go to Start, Run and then type: regedit

Locate this key in your registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre nt Version\Applets\Paint
Click on that key and delete it.
Exit the registry editor and re-open Paint.

Note you can save the registry key first by:
On the File menu, click Export.
In the File name box, type SaveKey, and then click Save.
Or create a system restore point prior to editing.
Note: If the registry key is not there, you can simply create one by going edit
new.

You can also try this:

1. Click Start, select Control Panel, and double-click the Add or Remove
Programs icon.

2. Click the Add/Remove Windows Components option and highlight Accessories
and Utilities.

3. Select the Details button and Click the Accessories checkbox.

4. Select the Details button and deselect the Paint option.

5. Click OK, select Next, and choose Finish.

6. Restart the system.

Now, reinstall the Microsoft paint by following the steps given:

1. Click Start, select Control Panel, and double-click the Add or Remove
Programs icon.

2. Click the Add/Remove Windows Components option and highlight Accessories
and Utilities.

3. Select the Details button and Click the Accessories checkbox.

4. Select the Details button and select the Paint option.

5. Click OK, select Next, and choose Finish.

6. Restart the computer.

This should reinstall the Windows XP Paint.
