HP 720C printing ASCII with XP driver
Hi All,
I'm new to using XP Professional, I use LPT1 and have HP DeskJet 720C. I've read all the posts here. After many unsuccessful efforts to install XP driver, it did...I think, but it prints ASCII characters on one or two lines page after page even though it's only a 15 character sentence. I think I have figured it out, but before tinkering with the Registry, I want opinions since it means editing the registry. Going to the registry folder: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Print\Printers\HP DeskJet 720C In the folder, the right panel shows Name, Type and Data. In the Date is says RAW. I believe that is why it prints ASCII characters. I can right click to modify, but need input here.... do I replace RAW with text??? Is there anything else I should change? Of course, the mandatory backup before any attempts to mess with Mr. Bill's mess is a given. ;-) TIA Liza Spam avoidance Remove -REMOVETHIS- to reply via email |
