Default SP2 LOL!!!

hah... i installed SP2 on my machine, go to restart as
usual... on loading the blue screen comes up says cannot
find file winsrv... played around for a little bit and
ended up having to reinstall windows.. nice service pack.

I'm glad you agree that it infact IS a nice service pack.
(I understand what you posted was sarcasm.) Not sure what
winsrv does or is so not much I can give you as far as
info about why it did that. Don't even know where to tell
you to start looking.

SP2 is in what is called a "Public BETA" release. Screw
up everyones systems so they are forced to buy Longhorn
when it is released.

That error means the 'winsrv.dat' or 'winsrv.dll' file is missing or
corrupt in the Windows\System32 folder, or more likely that
your registry was corrupt to begin with before installing SP2.

After performing a "Repair Install", reinstall SP2.

I have encountered the same error on a friends computer
and am now trying to figure out what to do before
reloading the dang system.

the winsrv.dll error after sp2 is caused
by ............spyware "TV MEdia" i think.....so stop
crying about the service pack and learn how to use it.

What winsrv file? The .dll file is legitimate, the .exe version is a well
known trojan.
