Slow Network FIXED
Ok, so I've been fooling around and I was able to fix the speed
somewhat. Still seems a little slower than when we were running win98, but MUCH faster than before. Hopefully this will work for the rest of you having the same problem until microsoft figures takes their heads out of the sand. 1) Open Network Connections 2) Right Click local area connection and select properties 3) Click Install 4) Select Protocol and click Add 5) Chose IPX/SPX/NetBios and click ok 6) Go back to the properties dialog and UNCHECK tcp/ip 7) Click ok 8) Open back up the properties dialog and RECHECK tcp/ip. 9) Click ok 10) Right click on the advanced menu and choose advanced setting. 11) Verify that netbios is on top of the other protocols. If not use the arrow buttons to move it there. 12) under file & printer sharing UNCHECK tcp/ip. 13) Click ok You should now see fast browsing/opening/etc... If you have a file server you'll also need to do this on that machine. This may not work for you depending on your setup, but hopefully it will. |
