My Computer won't restart after a Crash

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me. My computer crashes (goes from whatever I was working on to a black screen) and when it tries to reboot itself, it doesn't get past the first page (the one with about 4 lines of words across the top of the screen). The
computer will beep, then go back to that first page again (over and over and over). But, if I turn the power off - let it sit about an hour - then it will start back up and I can use it like normal. This happened about twice in the past two months, but th
is week it has happened 4 times already. My Norton Anti - Virus is up to date, says I have NO viruses, I have, and use regularly SpyHunter (an Adware program), I use disk Clean-up and the defragmenter weekly (don't know if that has anything to do with it)
, and I delete the temp files at the end of each online session. I have done everything a novice like me can think of, sure would like some help from someone who knows more than I do about this. Thanks!!

There are several 4 - 6 line messages I can think of. Please copy the complete
message, and provide here.

Your symptoms (crash without warning, reset by letting it sit) sound like either
a power supply / cooling problem, or hard drive malfunction. How old is the
computer?

NAV is a good (not great) protective tool. I don't know SpyHunter. There are
other malware protection tools, some are free. All below are - try some.

Try these free online virus scans:

Now check for, and learn to defend against, additional carriers of infection.

First, download LSP-Fix and WinsockXPFIx from http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm,
and CWShredder from http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4086.html. All are
free.

Next, run CWShredder. Have it fix all variants.

Now check for, and remove, spyware. Get HijackThis

http://security.kolla.de/index.php?l...&page=download. Both free.
1) Install and run Spybot. First update it ("Search for updates"), then run a
scan ("Check for problems"). Trust Spybot, and make all recommended deletions.
2) Install and run HijackThis. Do NOT make any changes immediately. Save the
HJT Log.
3) Have your HJT log interpreted by experts at one or more of the following
forums (and post it here):

If removal of any spyware affects your ability to access the internet (some
spyware builds itself into the network software, and its removal may damage your
network), run LSP-Fix and / or WinsockXPFIx.

Harden your browser. There are various websites which will check for
vulnerabilities, here are three which I use.

Harden your operating system. Check at least monthly for security updates.
