Default Windows Update

-----Original Message-----
My Windows version is XP Home SP1.My problem is that

many
of the Windows automatic updates arent being
installed.Sometimes i get error messages like 'so&so
you're trying to install hasn't been digitally signed by
Microsoft.Istallation won't continue.'And when i tried

to
install the anti sasser virus program which i downloaded
(not automatic updates)it was aborted and i got the
message 'make sure the cryptographic service is
running.'But when i checked the status of this service

in
the component service under administrative tools in the
control panel it was running. So i stopped and restarted
it and again tried to install the anti virus pack. But i
recieved the same message.Please explain.
.
Hi, I am having the exact same problem. Getting the

same error messages when trying to install critcal
updates, etc. If anyone knows what's up with this,
please post a reply! Thanks!!
