Default reinstall pro and still haveing network problem

hi guys,
I got a huge problem. I have a hp computer with xp pro and a couple of days ago i bought a router to try to get my ps2 and my computer on the internet at the same time but then my computer could not access the internet. So i then disconnect the router and just used my computer instead to go on line but now the computer would not access the internet. So then i looked up the problem and i was getting a 162.192.x.x so i took the hard way out and took your advice from this forum and reinstall the whole xp pro back on to the computer but that did not fix the problem i am still getting that address. I would really like to hear from you guys on what to do next cause i am perplex!?!? please help me out and thank you for your time.

If you are getting a 162.192.X.X address, then there is a DHCP server out
there that is handing it out to you. In the IPConfig /all, you should be
able to see which DHCP server handed this to you. ( Unless you manually
configured the IP yourself. You may want to check just in case )
