Default Intel D865GBF (memory question)

I have 2 modules (256MB each DDR333 PC2700), making it 512MB of RAM
operating in dual channel mode already installed.

I am going to add 1 gig (1 stick), but am unable to fill that last slot now.
Of course, this will put me at 1.5 gigs.

I was just curious as to how the 1 gig will respond since it will not
operate in dual channel mode with the 2 other modules, which are operating
in dual channel.

Anyone have any similar experience?
