Default device manager

Hello,
After getting infected with Apropos and removing it - I have some problems
with my laptop. When I open device manager, there is nothing in it. When I
select start/settings/network connections, my local network does not appear,
although I can access it.
Any ideas what went wrong?
Thanks,
E Fassett

See if running the AproposFix tool below helps:

Thanks to McCarthy for supplying the above URL. Note that the utility
referenced above removes a Malware reponsible for blank device manager.

Thank you for the idea. The problem is I was directed to do a windows repair
by an HP support person and the process hung up and so I ended up having to
re-install windows. BAD. I saved your info in case it happens again.
