Default pci slot

hi all, thanks in advance

modem not working. device manager pci simple communication controller(which
i take it is where the modem is plugged in ) has yellow "?" "properties" says
"drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)" how/where do i get them

Download and install the Modem drivers from the modem's manufacturer's
web site, if you no longer have the driver disk that came with the
computer or modem.

Or uninstall the modem, then reboot, Windows will detect it
as new hardware and install the correct driver.

In additon to what Bruce and Jim have posted, If you have trouble
Identifying the modem, obtain a copy of everest or aida32 to assist.

A caveat, however, that many modems defeat this utility by being too
vauge. You may have to pull out the card, and look for a model number.
