HPdeskjet 832c not able to read ink cartridge
Printer was working just fine, then orange warning light indicating ink
catridge problem started blinking. Replaced cartridge with new one, still blinking. Ran cartridge cleaning and allignment routines, manually cleaned contacts with alcohol and Q-tip - light still blinking. HP support for inkjet printers no longer exists - any suggestions. (I cannot afford a new printer right now, sorry) |

(I cannot afford a new printer right now, sorry) When you say that HP support for inkjet printers no longer exists, did you try to email HP and get that response? You seem to have tried most of the common remedies, but here are a few links where you may get some more ideas: HP Deskjet 800 Series Printers - Fixing Blinking Lights http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/d...cname=bpd09169 HP Inkjet Supplies - Print Cartridge Errors http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/d...dlc=en&lang=en HP deskjet 830c e-mail support http://wwemail.support.hp.com/fd2/Em...&lang=en&cc=us http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/ HP support forums - overview and FAQs http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/f...t/helptips.do? -- Lem -- MS-MVP To the moon and back with 64 Kbits of RAM and 512 Kbits of ROM. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apollo_Guidance_Computer |

HPdeskjet 832c not able to read ink cartridge
Lem, THank you for your response - I did e-mail HP; the response was that they no longer offer support for the deskjet that I own and suggested I go to HP/go/Support, which I did. There only solution was to replace cartridges, which I also did ($52 worth at Staples) The links you provided are very useful and I will save them. However, they too put all the blame on the ink cartridges. There are no diagnostics or repair kits available for that series of printer. There were several other posts with the same problems so it seems to be a common condition. It appears that HP would rather we just dispose of the plastic printers when they develop malfunctions and go out and buy a new model. With what I have spent on replacement ink cartridges already, that would have been a cheaper solution. THank you for your help - The links may prove useful in the future. vBreezo |

HPdeskjet 832c not able to read ink cartridge
You could buy a new HP printer that uses identical ink cartridges
which would save you the $$$ and give you a new start. Check eBay for many HP printers starting at $1.00 -- XP - WNP Today is the first day of the rest of your life.
