Default Independent Mouse and Touchpad Speed Possible?

I have a Dell Latitude with Windows XP. I tend to
alternate between using the touchpad and a mouse (Microsoft Notebook
Optical
Mouse 3000). I can only find one setting (in the "mouse" category of
the
control panel) to control the speeds (sensitivity) of those devices.
Unfortunately, I feel that when the mouse is at a comfortable speed
setting,
the touchpad is too slow; and when the touchpad is well tuned, the
mouse is
too fast. I keep having to go back to the control panel to change the
setting
from one to the other...

Is there any way to independently control the sensitivity settings of
each
device? I appreciate any help.

Thanks,
Gordon
