Explorer.exe Shuts Down
I get the following error message when I am browsing folders on a secondary
drive on my computer. The drive contains mainly video files (mov and avi) that I have transfered from our camera. If I select a file and then arrow down the list, usually about the fourth file selected causes the error shown below. It happens very consistently. I have run a memory test and it is fine. I have scanned for viruses and spyware and I believe I am clean. I'm running Norton Internet Secrity 2007 and using Adaware for spyware detection. Any thoughts? Thanks. Your system probably has a conflict with one of the latest updates from MS.
You could determine that by removing a few, and testing. The long term fix is to find the conflict. Only you could find that. I would think it would be something like a video driver, graphics viewer, or camera software. (Kodak Easy Share beeing one of the current 'usual suspects') -- Was this post helpful to you? Mark,
Thanks for the help. Do you have any suggestions on trying to find the conflict? I am not very familiar with the Windows event logs and other behind the scenes tracking systems. I am fairly computer literate and always willing to try and learn. Thanks. "Mark L. Ferguson" wrote: Your system probably has a conflict with one of the latest updates from MS. You are unfortunately breaking 'new ground' on the conflict. The KBase has no
data on the event (the 'fault bucket'), and you would have to experiment till you found some difference, as you pulled and reinstalled stuff. Not that I'm recomending it, but there have been a number of reports here by people who actually started clean, updated, then put in apps till the fault, then removed updates till it stopped, all just to find out. It would certainly be tedious work. -- Was this post helpful to you? Then click the "Yes" button, below. Voting helps others who use the web interface. Mark L.
