Winzip 10.0 Question
I know how to zip up a group of individual files.
Is there an easy way to zip a set of files in a group of nested folders? In other words, suppose we have top folder A which holds Subfolders B and C. B and C each contain a set of files or other folders, etc.. Is there an easy way to have Winzip to roll up all the files continued in all the nested folders, without having to go into each subfolder and individually add all the files? -- PT |

Winzip 10.0 Question
Adding folders (and the subfolders or files in them) into Winzip is no
different from adding files. In Windows Explorer, in the left pane navigate to highlight the top folder (the one you call A), so all its subfolders and files show in the right pane. In the right pane select all the folders and files (Highlight the top one, hold shift key highlight the bottom one). With them all selected right click, click on the Winzip icon in the context menu to bring up the Winzip side menu, click whichever of the add to zip options you want. Or, Open Winzip, and drag the selection into the Winzip Window. In the Winzip window you will just see a list of all the files in the folders and subfolders, not the folders themselves, but Winzip also stores the path for each file so that if you later extract the files from the zip, the folder structure will be recreated. You can see the path column in the Winzip window (if it is not already there right click on the column headers check the columns you want to show).. "PT" wrote in message ... Winzip 10.0 Question
Is it Winzip 10.0 Pro? If so, you should be able to create a job that will
do what you are wanting to do. To get the job functionality, you have to have the Pro version. I haven't used the basic version in quite a while, so not sure how it would work there. Winzip 10.0 Question
Yes. Right-Click on the parent folder, select SEND TO, Select Compressed Zip folder. Done. The zip file will be placed in the parent folder. Hope this helps. Winzip 10.0 Question
That's using the "compressed folders" feature in Windows not the WinZip
product. "ANONYMOUS" wrote in message ... Yes. Right-Click on the parent folder, select SEND TO, Select Compressed Zip folder. Done. The zip file will be placed in the parent folder. Hope this helps.
