Default Issue with Screen on XP 2003

I have having an issue with the screen when the computer comes off the screen
saver, if flickers for 5 secs or so, then comes back up to the screen, this
started happening when I did an update. Any suggestions or troubleshooting
trips, I did a full PC Dr scan, this is on an Thinkpad R61i, new computer.

Test the screen saver by using another one. If that stops it, replace the
screen saver. if it's one that comes with XP you can run the command :

SFC /SCANNOW

to replace system files.
