Default sp3 failure

Installed sp3 today & got the msg about entry point apsinitialize in
wlanapi.dll. Then the system hung when zone alarm wanted an allow on a
changed program.
I did leave zone alarm on while sp3 was installing. Anyone got anyother
ideas? TIA

You need to disable antivirus software before installing a service pack.
You may need to uninstall it altogether. You should read through the
Zone Alarm user forums for help.

I did a right click on za tray icon & then clicked on the 'shut down the za
security suite'. I believe it shut down because windows soon came up with a
security problem of no firewall. The install of sp3 still failed exactly the
same way. Did you try the shut down ...? TIA

Ok followed ur suggestions & uninstalled zone alarm, installed sp3 &
installed zass. Still get the msg about the entry point apsinitialize but
system seems to running fine. Will have to research the entry point
problem. Thanks.
