R.click the desktop,properties,customize,web tab,locate "lock desktop items"
box & check it. "Josh" wrote: I have 4 icons on left side of screen. when I restart computer the recycle bin icon is always on the right side of screen. Try uninstalling and reinstalling that. |

When you say "I rearrange it, right click and select save desktop icon layout to no avail", what exactly do you mean? Does it give an error message of some sort when you try to save, or is the option greyed out? Or do you just mean that it seems to save it, but the layout is lost on next logon? Does a right-click "Restore Desktop Icon Layout" work? If you right-click an empty part of your desktop and hover over "Arrange Icons By", which items in the list have ticks next to them? |

In most of those, it's a 2 step thing: You SAVE the layout. The layout gets messed up. Then you have to RESTORE or RELOAD the desktop. Sounds like you're missing part of it or an icon or something. Check the docs with the app to see how to get the saved desktop setting back. I use one and it's great; especially if I have to jump into Safe Mode for anything. HTH |
