Default Autoplay keeps starting for no reason

My computer keeps making a beep/alarm sound and then starting "Autoplay",
then stops. It does this every few minutes. This is the kind of thing it
does when a new CD is inserted or a usb drive is connected, but there is no
new USB drive connected and no CD inserted. What could this be? How can I
stop it?

Thanks for any help,

Huck

Look in the root folder on the drive for a file named "Autorun.inf" and
delete it.

And/or: Go to Start/Run and type in: regsvr32 /i shell32

See line 404 - Prevent autorun.inf virus:
