Default Rebuild PC

I am rebuilding another PC. I have reinstalled XP. I understand there is a
website in Microsoft for installing drivers. You put your service tag number
in and it rebuilds the drivers that were initially installed. Anyone know
where this is????

The words "Service Tag" leads me to believe you left out the words, "I have
a Dell computer"...
Also - you did a clean installation of Windows XP is what I assume you mean
by "rebuilding another PC"?

If you have a Dell computer - visit the Sell Support site, download drivers
and enter the service tag when asked.

Otherwise - figure out each hardware component you have and need drivers for
and visit each of those manufacturer's support web pages and download the
drivers direct from each one of those sites.

That's news to me.

If the PC is a brand name (i.e., Dell), I suggest that you check the maker's
web site for drivers.

Not Microsoft (you should never get drivers from Windows Update).
Perhaps you're referring to Dell?

In any event, you *download* the requisite drivers and then burn them to
a CD to use on your box with newly-installed Windows.

No, you understand wrong. Now, Dell can do that, but not Microsoft.
