accidentally installed same copy on 2 machines
I own 2 copies of XP pro, one for my laptop, one for my desktop.
I recently had to reinstall on the desktop, and in so doing inadvertently used the disk/product code from the copy I installed on the laptop. I was successfully able to activate this installation before I realized my error, but my question is, will it cause any problems (WGA, etc) on my laptop down the road if i've got the same product key installed on 2 machines? If so, what is the recommended solution? |

If both versions of XP are the same (i.e. both are XP Pro or both are XP
Home) then you can use a keychanger to simply change the key on one of the systems. Here is a freebie that will do it http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?Link...46&clcid=0x409 Simple instructions here http://www.mydigitallife.info/2007/0...free-download/ Just run on one of the systems. It will display a box to enter the new key and then click the Change Key button and reboot. If you need to check the key that is currently on a system you can use this freebie http://magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder/ -- Xandros "Dave R" wrote in message ...
