Using Bluetooth to connect Windows Mobile phone to laptop with BT

I have bought a new netbook and I want to connect it to the Internet
using my Windows Mobile (HTC) phone using Bluetooth. Both netbook and
phone are BT-enabled.

I have successfully paired the devices but I don't know what to do
after that.

WIndows Mobile has Internet Sharing built-in and, I presume, I use
thissomehow... but I don't know how.

So, mny question: how do I use WIndows Mobile and WIndows XP to use
Bluetooth to use the phone to connect to the Internet (using T-
Mobile's unlimited Internet access)?

A few things you need to know:

1) Microsoft's Bluetooth protocol (SP2 or greater) is limited to
serial connections and PAN network settings. You may have trouble
sharing files back and forth between the PC and handheld.

2) Unlimited Internet access might be misleading. This is usually
meant as Unlimited Internet access while using the handheld's screen.
When using a "tethered" PC to access the Internet, you might have
additional charges. Please read the fine print on your T-Mobile
service contract.

How you achieve this depends on the hardware that is contained in the phone.
Very old phones required the setting up of a dial up networking link that
required a username and password plus a phone number that was actually a
code that told the phone to use the GPRS service. Slightly newer phones
stored the username and password in the phone and the phone number contained
a pointer to the profile that contained that information. Both of these set
up a dial up networking icon in the network screen of the PC.

However, the modern way is to set up a Personal Area Network (PAN) and this
also requires a username and password stored in the phone, but instead of a
dial up icon, you now use a PAN icon which connects instantly.

How you actually set this up depends very much on the phone that you have
and by far the best course of action is to contact your phone supplier's
help line. They should be able to e-mail you specific instructions or more
often these days point you to a web site that auto configures the phone by
texting the settings. Once set up, linking the PC is usually a matter of
just running the network wizard which will do most (if not all) of the work
for you.

On local ATT store, another customer shopping for the newest HTC phone (he
had the tilt), said to me that it is possible to tether your phone as long
you sign up for a data plan, but, he did not mention he was going to tether
to a laptop, therefore it was cheaper, otherwise ATT will charge about $60 to
$70 for data portion only of exisiting plan (plus voice, etc). He was paying
about $30.
If you plan to do this, try one month and don't say nothing to your provider.
If they charge you extra or tether, as long you don't abuse it (more than 5
GIG/mo)
You might want to consider going to another carrier.
