Default link problem

When I go to the control panel and click on add/remove, I get the following
notice: Windows/system32/rundll32.exe...Application not found. This same
message comes up on several items in the control panel, but not all. Also
when I use the run command and enter "explorer or msconfig or regedit" I get
an open with box. There seems to be no link to any of the normal run items.

Can anyone advise

Bob S.
