Default Welcome screen - email notification

I installed a Firewall the other day which had the
temporary effect of denying my daughter access to her
Messenger program (now sorted out).

But while I worked on this she used the Messenger
function under my account and next to my name on our
Welcome Screen it tells me that I have 2 new emails (and
gives her email address). But neither I or my daughter
have any outstanding emails but no matter what I try the
message refuses to disappear.

What can I do to get rid of it? This is really baffling
me so any hel woud be very gratefully received.

Tony
