shut down

Try holding the power button in for about 10 seconds.
This will force a power shutdown.

Two problems -I ran 16 updates .it took three hours to
complete I then turned off my computer, but when it got
to the blue screen that says windows shutting down it
froze and the computer and monitor stayed on all night.
the only way I could turn it off is to unplug it.all the
updates failed, don't know why. shut down problem is
ongoing for the last 24 hours. I also tried to run
updates one at a time that also failed can you help?
