Default Application sharing & Whiteboard don't work?

Hi,

Two XP machines running MSN messenger 6.1.0207 connected via a Linksys
BERSR41 router.

Voice, Video, File Transfer, Text work fine as does Remote Assistance,
Whiteboard and Application sharing do not work.

UPnP is enabled on the router and I have tried disabling McAfee personal
firewall+ which makes no difference.

When I initiate a whiteboard request the following happens....

Dialogue box opens with "Sharing session" on the originating machine and
destination machine. "Add Sharing & Whiteboard are greyed out but "Close"
will work. At the bottom of this window it will display "waiting" on both
machines.

And that is it! remember that remote assistance works perfectly!

Regards,

Paul

He is running XP with a version of Messenger so the "WindowsXP Messenger"
newsgroup is correct. Thres is nothing in the name of this newsgroup to
infer in can only be used for Windows Messenger even though that was the
oritional version supplied with XP.

You are correct, it was my mistake. Had NetMeeting on my mind.

I believe, but am not sure, that the "missing functions" use dll routines
from Windows messenger. So if you completly removed Windows Messenger from
your system after installing MSN Messenger these 2 functions would not be
available.
