Default Windows Messenger Groups

Greetings,

I am currently running Windows Messenger 4.7, However I
just noticed a small problem the other day and I cant
seem to fix it.

In my buddy list,I have my contacts sorted so that all my
contacts are under the "Friends" group. Therefore I
deleted "Family" and "Others". Well the other day I had
added two new people and found they went into a whole new
group. "Individuals", Now I hadn't created this group so
I moved all the contacts over and tried to delete the
group. However MSN will not let me delete this group. The
option is just greyed out. Its such a hassle to keep
moving everyone I add. For my list is always constantly
changing.

Anyone have any help or suggestions for this?

Thanks.
Andre

Greetings Andre,

The Individuals group is actually there by some newer changes that are coming to Messenger
and this is by design. You won't be able to remove this group, but I will check on if the
behavior you're seeing is actually the way it should be.

Unfortunately there really isn't much you can do about this right now.

Hi Andre,

Just to add, you can install MSN Messenger 6.x, which will remove the Individuals group
(infact the group disappears). Of course, MSN Messenger is not an upgrade to Windows
Messenger, but a separate application, so you may not want to install it if this isn't a big
deal for you.

Will you be able to let me know what you find out about
the behavior. And curious as to if a older 4.7 Does not
have this. I have version, (4.7.2009).

Again, Thanks.
Andre

Hi Andre,

You'll see this in all versions, except for MSN Messenger 6.1.0207.
