Actually this is the result of the same issue -- Messenger tries to sign
you into Passport to
play these games, since (from your Hotmail problem) you are unable to
automatically be signed
into Passport, the same problem occurs when you try to play the Messenger
games.

Have you tried simply signing out of Messenger (or if you have your
Passport saved, click
Start, then Control Panel, then User Accounts, click the current Windows
XP account that
you're logged in under, then click "Change my .NET Passport", choose the
"Use a Different
Passport" button) and sign in using all lowercase.
