list view

i am tryin get my list view stick to "width of selected column (in pixels) to
500. but as soon as i exit out of explorer, it goes back to the previous
setting. "Remember each folders setting" is set.

this has to be bug, i tried everything i know. anyone has any suggestion?

thanks for the link Mark. site is pretty cool. but it does not have the fix i
am looking for. my issue is under view list, i would like to have 500pixesl
width between files. but it take my setting but as soon as i exit out of
explorer. it goes back to the default. by default in windows xp, i can set
the width size up to 999 (pixels).

I resolved my issue. There is is bug in the "list view (choose detail)" under
explorer(xp machine), if you try to size the file name under list view it
wont stick.
