Computer Freezes at Login Page - Mouse doesn't work
I am running XP Pro on a Compaq Armada M300 notebook. I recently
attempted to install a Logitech remote air mouse. During installation, I was told that the installation program would uninstall an older Logitech mouse driver. After the computer started to reboot, it froze at the login page -- the page where I click on my icon and type in a password. The mouse arrow was frozen in the center of the screen. I attempted a safe mode boot, but no pointing device there either. I just noticed that the network card was apparently working, so attempted to access files from my desktop. Lo and behold, I sucessfully accessed files on my laptop from my desktop, so the machine is not dead??? What can I do to get my pointing device back. I am unable to use arrow keys or any other method to navigate to a possible solution. |

How were you able to access files on your desktop without a working
mouse or keyboard? --- Leonard Grey Errare humanum est coltich wrote: I am running XP Pro on a Compaq Armada M300 notebook. I recently attempted to install a Logitech remote air mouse. I can go to my network places on my desktop and actually open files on my laptop. |

In that case you can uninstall the laptop's mouse software.
