Task Bar has Changed Colors?!?!?!?
I have just reformatted my C Drive and installed XP (Home Ed). I then
updated my Nvidia Drivers , Activated Windows, install AVG and installed Service Pk 2. My Task Bar has changed to a gray color (looks like the task bar for Windows 2000) I have tried to change under appearance, but the only option it gives me is Windows Classic Style--which is gray. I have done a restore point back to before each item was installed to see if it changed back colors, but no luck. I did a restore point all the way back before any programs/drivers were installed -- it still stays gray. Any suggestions or information would be appreciated. I don't want to finish installing all my other programs until I know what to do about this problem. Thanks, |

Task Bar has Changed Colours?!?!?!?
Hi,
I also have xp home, and display / appearance should show, windows classic and have a box underneath "colour scheme" which will produce about 20 colours, there should be also media centre and xp to use, with their own colour sets to use. Also use the advance button next to them to get other colours -- thanks, alex "tmspry" wrote: I have just reformatted my C Drive and installed XP (Home Ed). Task Bar has Changed Colours?!?!?!?
I have tried to change the colour scheme under display/appearance, but this
only changes the colors at the top of the windows. Its not just the color that concerns me, the whole look of the windows, starts menu and task bar do not look like XP but more like 2000. It makes me think that somehow there is a problem with xp not displaying right. In the past when XP experienced a problem, the task bar would change. Alex thanks for trying to help. Any other ideas on how to figure this out. Task Bar has Changed Colours?!?!?!?
I have tried these changes-no effect on the task bar. I uninstalled the
nvidia drivers and went to the nvidia website and let it automatically detect the driver to install to make sure I hadn't picked the wrong driver. I appreciate your suggestions and advice. Any other ideas? Have you looked into "services" to see if "themes" is enabled?

Task Bar has Changed Colours?!?!?!?
I just checked "services" ,Theme is on automatic. Under display
properties-windows and buttons, the only choice I have is Window Classic style. Do you have any other choice? I have my themes set on Window XP. Still nothing has changed.
