Default Road Runner will not connect

We had Road Runner wireless installed and it didn't always connect even when
it said the network was detected. Once sevice pack 3 dowloaded I can't get
connected at all. Road Runner sent out a tech guy who said it's Windows
causing the problem. Any ideas?

what brand and model router? security? WEP? WPA?WPA2?

what happens when you try to connect?

what wireless network card and driver? are you using windows to
manage the wireless or some vendor's proprietary utility?
