manually use Windows Update
How can I manually use Windows Update to run the net.framework 3.5 version?
dotNetFx35setup.exe The DL'ed file, dotNetFx35setup.exe will not complete. It hangs. Can I rename the msi*.* files in System32 and restart and retry to run the dotNetFx35setup.exe ? Thank you. |

Thank you for the link. Is this valid? Browse to: C:\MSOCache\All Users
and delete the contents. Then run the setup again. This was the 2nd line of my original message..... * * The DL'ed file, dotNetFx35setup.exe will not complete * * . It hangs. In line:
" Is this valid? Browse to: C:\MSOCache\All Users and delete the contents. Absolutely valid, If the msocache is corrupt it can mess up an install. It is the "backup" files from previuos installs. Then run the setup again. This was the 2nd line of my original message..... * * The DL'ed file, dotNetFx35setup.exe will not complete * * . It hangs. Can I rename the msi*.* files in System32 and restart and retry to run the dotNetFx35setup.exe ? No. I would never mess with anything in system32, and actually I believe that XP considers those "protected" files. -- Steve Easton Microsoft MVP FrontPage FP Cleaner http://www.95isalive.com/fixes/fpclean.htm Hit Me FP http://www.95isalive.com/fixes/HitMeFP.htm |
