Where is my "Start menu" ???
"Hari Hari Mau" wrote in message ... On Dec 12, 3:38 am, "Roy Smith" wrote: "Hari Hari Mau" wrote in ... Hmm... just discover this !! Wondering around the wonderful world of Internet I found the following picture --- http://www.microsoft.com/library/med...sing/accessibi... Then I click the "Taskbar and Start Menu Properties" on my own PC and found something really weird ! As you can see in the that picture at Microsoft, there are two items under the "Start Menu" tab -- "Start menu" and "Classic Start menu" Mine ... only the "Classic Start menu" appears ! What is going on??? How to make it so that my "Taskbar and Start Menu Properties" looks like the one in the picture?? Please help. It's a simple fix, though it does require making some changes in your computer's registry. Make a backup of your registry before making any changes just in case. If you don't know how to do that then read this article: How to Backup and Restore the Registry. Now to restore the Start Menu Go to Start = Run and type in "regedit" {without the quotes} Navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\Explor er In the right-hand pane, right-click on NoSimpleStartMenu and Modify its Value to decimal 0 [dword:00000000] Logoff and logon again (or restart) for the changes to take effect. -- Roy Smithhttp://roysmith1959.spaces.live.com/ Thank you !!! That did the magic !!! Thanks again !!!!!!!! No problem, glad to be of help. Thanks for the feedback! -- Roy Smith http://roysmith1959.spaces.live.com/ |
