Help! my PC keeps trying to access the A drive !?$*
Any ideas how I can stop this thing? It keeps trying to access the empty A
dirve about every 10 seconds. The PC is about 5 years old. I've tried re-booting. This might have started after I did a disk cleanup. thanks in advance... BoBo Baggins |

i am assuming that
your a drive is likely to be a floppy drive. if so, then perhaps, you might try accessing the bios and disable the floppy drive device the bios is detecting. also, you mention the drive being empty but not sure if you mean the drive bay or simply that there is no media in the drive. in anycase, if you have a drive a / floppy drive, you can open your computer and disconnect the cables to it. both methods above will simply disable the drive so that windows cannot see it. however, method 2 is a better choice since the numerous bootups will simply cycle the drive to death. -- db·´¯`·...¸)))º DatabaseBen, Retired Professional - Systems Analyst - Database Developer - Accountancy - Veteran of the Armed Forces "BoBo" wrote in message ... You can speed things up by putting a blank floppy disk in the drive. |
