file type icon not correct
Hi - I have set all my .avi files to be "Opened WIth" Windows Media Player,
expecting all the icons accociated with such .avi files to change to the little Media Player icon - yet they do not. The retain the little film-strip type icon with the word "AVI' shown on it. How can I cnage this? P.S. I have succesfully changed all my .mp4 files to show the little quicktime icon. |

Hi WildWill,
I suppose you have multiple media players installed? You might want to check the file type associated with the other players. It could be the case that AVI is not one of the files associated with your media player. You can change it manually in the Registry at [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AVIFile\DefaultIcon]
or using 'Folder Options--File Types'. ju.c "WildWill" wrote in message news Hi - I have set all my .avi files to be "Opened WIth" Windows Media Player, expecting all the icons accociated with such .avi files to change to the little Media Player icon - yet they do not.
