Default WIN XP USB port driver

I suspect that I have a bad 'usbstor.sys' USB port driver. Where can I
download one without having to flip through 50 webpages of phony ads. Even
the Microsoft site has no direct path to download it.

TIA,

Hagen Sahm

Do a Search for usbstor.sys. C :\WINDOWS\Driver Cache\i386 You
should find one in DriverCab. SP2Cab and SP3Cab will
have it also.

The search command returns

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\USBSTOR.SYS
C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllcache\usbstor.sys
C:\WINDOWS\Driver Cache\i386\sp3.cab (i.e. inside a cab, must copy it out)

My D: drive contains the original installer CD i386 folder.
(I made that copy myself.) You could check your CD, if you
haven't installed any service packs since installing the system.

D:\I386\SP3.cab (i.e. inside a cab, must copy it out)

So potentially there are other copies on your system.
That is what shows on mine. My OS is recently purchased
and the installer CD is already at SP3.

Paul
