Default AVG blocking Quicktime player?

I went into the Quicktime website (?) and tried to download the player and
AVG warned me not to. Anyone know anything about this? Can I ignore the
warning and proceed?

Robert

I once had Quicktime but removed it and I won't download it again. It bugs
you incessantly with spam, etc. Some websites require it to view some
video, but I deem it better to live without those. I think AVG is correct.

False positives are not uncommone for AV software. If you're dowloading
from a trusted site, then evaluate the situation yourself. Personally I'd
ignore the AVG warning.

You say you were at the "Quicktime website (?)". Does the question mark
imply you're not sure where you were? I'd say that if you are trying to
download from the proper site, which seems to be
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/, then you should be fine. If you
were trying to download from some other site, then pay heed to AVG. It may
not be necessary, and AVG does throw up false positives, but better safe
than sorry.

If you're getting alerts from the Apple site, and your AVG is fully updated,
then you really need to ask in an AVG forum, and at least let *them* know
exactly what your AVG said in its warning.
