Strange Boot Message
Just started noticing this message during boot.
Immediately after the Windows splash screen disappears, a light blue window appears on the screen with this message: "00DBS program not found skipping autocheck" The message is there for just an instant (less then a second) and then the boot process is complete. Everything works just fine and I'm not certain when this first appeared since I don't normally watch the boot that closely. Also not certain if "00" in 00DBS are numbers or letters. Appreciate suggestions as to what could be causing this and how I might troubleshoot. |

I did a search for 00DBS and the first solution appears to answer it:

Before changing your registry, back it up with this popular free tool: http://www.larshederer.homepage.t-online.de/erunt/ Using regdit, look here at the BootExecute value: HKLM\SYSTEM\CURRENTCONTROLSET\CONTROL\Session Manager The default value is for BootExecute is: autocheck autochk * Your system has had this added: autocheck OODBS You should remove this entire extra OODBS line (I don't remember how it gets there) and just leave the value as: autocheck autochk * You do not want that extra line with OODBS... Reboot and see how things look. Then do this: Perform some scans for malicious software first, then fix any remaining issues: Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs: Malwarebytes (MBAM): http://malwarebytes.org/ SUPERAntiSpywa (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/ They can be uninstalled later if desired. |
