Default Right click wont respond for few minutes

Hi,

When I start my computer from a full shutdown or a restart, my right click
will display the hourglass for several minutes, up to 5 minutes at times.
This happens on the very first right click on any blank space on the desktop
or on any icon. Once I right click I cannot do anything (except ctrl alt
del), however, if I first open the internet then minimize the browser screen
then right click, I can continue working with the internet browser. After the
5 minutes or so the right click starts to work and will work fine from then
on until the next full reboot where the whole thing happens over again. I
usually hibernate my PC, but when I need to reboot this problem will happen.
This is a recent thing and started occurring yesterday.

I have searched around for a solution, but most things I found mention it is
a recurring thing that happens on every right click for about 5 seconds.

I run:

Windows XP Home
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4ghz
nVidea GeForce 7600 GT
2 gb ram
Norton anti virus 2009 ------------new to my computer (day before problem
started)

Any help would be much appreciated.
