Default xp pro x64 service pack 3 i pod touch

I just bought an i pod touch 2nd gen and when i plug it in it think its a
camera then when i go to i tunes it says i need to connect it to a computer
with windows vista or 32 bit xp. is it possible for it to work on a windows
xp professional x 64 edition. when i called apple they said i need a service
pack 3. i have looked for a service pack three but cant find one for my
operating system. has anyone had the same problem and do they know how to fix
it.
