Default Post - review problem of restore with ntbackup;

Resources to check on, ntbackup not restoring previous (way) pc was, ie:
Windows Live OneCare backup, which I don't have, use to have, nbut never the
less), I don't mind using ntbackup, which I believe does the job, but it's
the store feature that doesn't restore (post) looking ove pc, you know; too
much/vast to go into, just know I need to inquire on is it something I'm
doing, something the program is doing or doesn't do, is it something else. I
just need a short, sweet and to the point (idea), to start with, toget my
thinking going, and then I can check or start trying to try some solutions.
Thank you in advance. The backup and restore do perform, and know that the
backup is clearly longer than the restore, BUT, I noticed that the restore,
post - review after, my pc does not appear to be previously like before, ie:
system restore but not the issue, or like Windows Live OneCare backup; but
I know Microsoft, even though they could still make a profit, haven't or
won't, misc come out with a sole backup/restore program; just extract a copy
of Windows Live OneCare backup's program and add it into a program itself,
thus, people can choose whether to just need the backup, ntbackup, OneCare,
or some other program. Jeff Morris, email: Thank
you - just the facts and to the point please; if you don't know, fine. Please
share with another associate, so I CAN get on with what I need to do. Thank
you kindly. And just so you know, I 'get' - understand ntbackup, nothing
wrong with my external drive (which I do not keep plugged in all the time; I
only plug in when I do a backup, need to add a sole file or folder (ie
copying it to external drive) or need to restore). I just solely need to
inquire on the restore issue (per above). Wondering if it was a program or
(?) that do to previous setup (amidst inside of the backup) that may have
cuased weird post restore review, even after I first did full destructive
recovery, just to bring all back up to a normal point, then restore from my
external backup drive; I know what I'm doing/how to use, it's just that it
didn't restore previous - properly; thus, wondering if a different backup
program I should do, but I like ntbackup - store's laid out simply to use,
but not if it's not going to restore as easy and proper as backup; do you
understand? I'm trying to break down easy for whomever to understand, without
back and forth email, etc action. I just don't need a one way street with
ntbackup; restore as easy as backup, and no Automated recovery, I don't use,
I do all manually, I like it that way.
(please
be direct, to the point and know your stuff - techie; otherwise, please, I
ask you in advance, don't bother. I know there's some who know their stuff .
.. .).
