Default Problem with web folders

Hi!

We want to connect to a web folder using the Windows explorer.

When typing for example: https://mydomain.com/documents in Windows Explorer,
it will open this in Internet Explorer, and not stay in the Windows
Explorer.

If we add this address to the web folders in Windows, it works, but only
when going through web folders.

Is there any possibility to force Windows Explorer to recognize the address
as a web folder without going through the web folder hirarchy ? (something
like "webfolder:https://mydomain.com/documents")

Since we are using this method in a program, the current behaviour is not
possible to use.

BTW: In Vista it works.

David
