Default Best Win8 start menu I've ever tried

For all people in the world who have Windows 8 and can't update to 8.1 but
still feeling alone, before you change to Linux or another expensive system,
please give a chance to this utility:

http://www.startmenux.com

I've downloaded it and now I'm keeping in my drive for the future ocasion.
Right now I'm not using because it doesn't load automatically but it's fast
enough.
In my opinion it's perfect for a Windows 8 system that is always on. If you
have better suggestion be kind to share.

If you manually add a shortcut to the executable file to your startup
folder, does it load at startup?

I am not near my W8 computer now, so I can't give you the exact
procedure.

You "Sometimes ... forget basic things" like entering your reply
*above* the signature delimiter.

Note that your reply has disappeared here; in fact, I initial+ly
wondered why you had posted an empty reply, since (1) yur text was
below the sig and thus greyed out by my newsreader, and (2) my text was
not even quoted...

You are using Windows Live Mail, which is one reason why you don't
produce properly formatted replies.

I've changed my nick and I'm replying above sig. That's strange why user is
shadow in the night.

First, let me point out that upgrading to 8.1 doesn't provide anything
like this. Such a program is still needed, as far as I'm concerned.

Second, let me point out that are many such programs that provide very
similar facilities. Perhaps the most popular is Classic Shell (free)
but my personal favorite is Start8 (very inexpensive--$4.99 US), which
is what I use all the time.

So tell us about Start Menu X. What have you compared it with? Classic
Shell? Start8? Others? What is there about Start Menu X that you like
better than the alternatives?

I liked Start menu X because has no restrictions (freeware), is very
responsive to mouse click (fast), we can change button logo and looks
similar to original microsoft start menu. A not so perfect singularity is
the fact user can't drag and drop menu entries. I've tried this utility but
I don't use it because it has a short delay to load when windows starts.

I concur, Start8 to me is the best, I use an older version that includes
a Windows 7, Vista and XP startbutton to choose from

I am so surprised so many people are still using the archaic Start Menu.
I stopped using them around 2006. Launch Bars are so much faster and better.

OK, thanks. Start8 does all the same things and more. It isn't free,
but it's $4.99 price is close enough for me.

Perhaps there's a reason why something archaic has remained popular.

Yes, Start8 has the edge for me too, but I don't like having all the
other Stardock stuff thrown my way.
This Start8 Menu X aint so bad. Certainly better than Classic Shell (and
another one I tried recently, but forget the name).

What do these freeware merchants gain? The usual path is "turn out some
freeware, get it recognised, wait until some money-making deal drops on
your desk, sell your soul to the devil".
And that means drawing poor, unsuspecting souls into some labyrinth of
choices where they get drawn into the Minotaur's cave (but without
Ariadne's thread) and then click on a link that installs some downloader
or something.

I suppose, but it is so slow and takes a lot of mouse clicks and it is
naturally so disorganized.
