Remember name & password not working??
Jonathan, do you know if these steps will resolve .NET Passports not saving
when browsing the web? Many .NET Passport-enabled sites I go to prompt me for my password every time I visit them--even though I select 'Save my password'. "Jonathan Kay [MVP]" wrote in message ... Greetings Chester, First, run this .reg file: http://messenger.jonathankay.com/dow...lenetcreds.reg Then, if you're using Windows Messenger, reinstall it, close down Messenger (right click the messenger icon in the notification area/system tray and click close). Then click the start button, then click Run and type in (copy-paste if you like): RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove Then click OK. Messenger will then be uninstalled. For more detailed instructions and screenshots, go to, http://messenger.jonathankay.com/problem.aspx?ID=7 Reboot, say "Yes" to remove your preferences, then reinstall from: http://messenger.msn.com/download/download.asp?client=0 If after the reboot it still doesn't work, try clearing your Passport accounts in Windows XP. Click the Start Button, then click the Control Panel. Then, click User Accounts in the Control Panel. Select the currently logged in Windows XP account, and then on the left side of the screen, under Related Tasks, click 'Manage my Network Passwords'. Remove everything that has is denoted by (Passport) -- including Passport.Net\*, by using the 'Remove' button. Then try saving your password Passport again. ____________________________________________ Jonathan Kay Windows MVP, Messenger Associate Expert http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/ Messenger Resources - http://messenger.jonathankay.com "Chester" wrote in message ... I can't sign in automatically. I've told it again and again to remember my name and password without any luck. What do you have to do to get that feature to function? Another user has signed in from my user to check their account, would that make a difference? Chester |

Remember name & password not working??
Hi Chris,
It may (although reinstalling Messenger can be taken out for that). ____________________________________________ Jonathan Kay Windows MVP, Messenger Associate Expert http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/ Messenger Resources - http://messenger.jonathankay.com "Chris Waters" wrote in message ...
