Default Messenger spamming

Received over 200 notifications that Saddam has added me
to his contact list. Then 'later the same day' I receive
a corresponding e-mail. The only thing I've done over the
past 24 hours was complete my messenger profile. Is this
where the rogue is getting my address from?

Anyone in MS looking into this? It's a real pain.

OK i am furious! not a windows problem but any help

would
be greatly appreciated. I am very careful as to who i
give my email address to and opt out at every

opportunity
but the past 2 days i ahve reciened an unbelievable
amount of spam from 'saddam hussein' Its a load of

random
letters such as ' with their
handle as saddam and i recived 50 odd in my hotmail junk
folder. Hey ok so you get this rubbish from time to time
and i thought yeh whatever. But today i recieve this

spam
through Messenger, adding me to their contacts list,
about 70 today already! meaning i have had to block

them.
What the heck is this? this is new to me. The only

change
i have made recently is installing the latest update to
Windows Messenger.

I have bever had a majotr problem with spam before but
this is beyond a joke. Lets hope the new law changes

make
a difference

Anyone else heard of this? I can find nothing on the web

cheers

Just to let you know, I too have had these problems, the emails over 150 of
them and 2 days running Saddam trying to add me to his contact
list........lost count how many times but you can imagine. The emails do
seem to have stopped now though, touch wood.

oops, spoke too soon, another 41 messenger notifications, and 42
emails.........they just say "Got spam?", luckily I increased my junk mail
filter so they went straight to the junk mail box.
