Still unable to share applications
Hello,
I'm still not able to ahare applications via Windows Messenger. Any help greatly appreciated. Elbert ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----- Here's the thread so far that died out: Hello Jonathan, Thanks for your suggestion. Firewall is already off on both computers. I'm not sure what you mean by "behind the router"--one computer connects to the router through an ethernet cable, the other wirelessly, and that's how they share files and send messeges via Windows Messenger. Elbert -----Original Message----- Greetings Elbert, UPnP is required if you were application sharing with someone on the Internet, but UPnP is not required for to do it locally, behind the router. You might want to try turning off the Internet Connection Firewall, if it's been turned on -- click Start, then click the Control Panel. If you're in category view click Network and Internet connections then click Network Connections. Right click your network/internet connection, then click Properties. Click the Advanced Tab, and verify that the Internet Connection Firewall is unchecked. ____________________________________________ Jonathan Kay Windows MVP, Messenger Associate Expert http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/ Messenger Resources - http://messenger.jonathankay.com "Elbert" wrote in message ... I have two computers connected via a router. With Windows Messenger I can send messages between the two computers, but I cannot share an application. The router does not support UPnP. Could that be the cause? If so, is there a workaround? Thanks, Elbert |
