Default SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH MY PC.

Hi,
The said file in the system32 folder does not appear to be a system file. It
think is safe to delete the file. And yes, you may download and run the
following edit to restore the task manager and regedit.

Restore MSCONFIG, task manager and regedit (line 251, right column)

Hi,
I am having a Gateway PC with comcast Internet connection available 24 X

7.
Of late for the last week, the PC is not working properly. A few problems
are
i) . If I open the task manager it the task manager window comes up but
suddenly disappears and a small orange
box appears in the system tray which also disappears in a second.
ii) If I start the regedit (by running the regedit on command line), it

does
not even come up.
These are the only known problems, I donot know what exactly is the

problem
with my PC.
I ran the Norton's antivirus and I came to know that my computer is

infected
with w32.spybot.worm
and so I have followed the instructions given at the url given below.

http://securityresponse.symantec.com...ybot.worm.html
After all the scanning, restarting in safe mode, scanning again etc, I was
pointed at the following file as the infected file.
\WINNT\SYSTEM32\SDGOIJE.EXE
However I am not able to delete, rename or move the file as it is the

system
file.
However my question is even if I were able to delete the file, it is

correct
to delete the file, because the file \WINNT\SYSTEM32\SDGOIJE.EXE seems to

be
a system file. Any responses please,
thanks,.
Can any body provide me help in how do I resolve this issue. Your help is
highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,

Answered in the basics group. Please do not multi-post. If you must
cross-post, then do so to two or three *relevant* groups *at most* putting
the topics in the newsgroups field. Multi-posting is a waste of bandwidth,
it makes your post show as a new message in every group and it's mildly
irritating for those of us who monitor 15-20 groups to see the same message
as new and we can't always remember what we've answered in which groups.

Different people read different groups. I personally don't go to the =
basics group so I would never see your answer to his problem. Luckily, =
most people around here, excluding you, are actually polite.

How is saying "please" not polite? And she makes a good point.
Multi-posting in itself isn't bad, but only when you post to inappropriate
groups.

If the original poster had crossposted, rather than multi-posted, you =
would see all replies regardless of where the replier replied to it. =
Cross posting is usually excessive but it doesn't waste people's time =
like multi-posting does - in fact the only real concern with cross =
posting is extra noise and extra bandwidth for very little payback.

Multiposting means multiple people waste their time answering a =
question, and as the people who answer questions subscribe to a lot of =
groups, they notice that their time has been wasted. Or worse when there =
is a spate of similar problems, one actually researches and answers =
twice. Nothing like throwing something in the face of someone who just =
went to some effort for one.

Multi posting is individually posted messages. Crossposting is where all =
NGs are on the To or Newsgroup line. In crossposting you mark a message =
read in one group it's marked read everywhere and you reply in one group =
you reply everywhere.

The original poster wasn't. Multi-posting is actually quite rude...
