Default Changing computer registration

k, hopefully this will help you. You are going to have to
go into the registry editor to make these changes, but you
will be able to change the registration information
without having to reload the laptop. start by going to
STARTRUN and then in the dialog box, type in regedit anf
hit enter.

now you will be lookinh for this key data:

\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\C urrentVer
sion

When you click on that folder, in the right hand Pane you
will see a string value called RegistrationOrganization
and RegistrationOwner. you can double click on those
values and change the information to what you desire.Hope
this helps. Keep in mind though that all programs that
have already been installed will still have the old
information. there are more registry keys that contain
this data and you could go in and chnage them all I
suppose. Have a Good One! Good Luck!

p.s. those values can be found in:

\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Cur rentVersi
on\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Products\79DXXXXXXXXX

Where the S-1-5-18 is, that value may be diff, also where
the 79DXXXXXXX is...

-----Original Message-----
I would like to change the registered user on my company
laptop. If I am in the "system properties" dialog box,
it will say "Registered to" followed by a name. I don't
see any immediate way of changing this. How do I edit
this without having to do a reinstall?
.
