Default Auto scandisk/defrag

Is there a way or a program that will allow automatic scandisk and defrag?
I had my ME system scheduled to perform these tasks every night.

T Thomas--

For defrag:

See Kelly's Site--Scroll Down to

Defrag - Run as a Scheduled Task where there is a small vb script provided
for this:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_d.htm

XP has Chkdsk instead of Scandisk:

You can automate it with this batchfile:

http://techrepublic.com.com/5138-6288-729266.html

Is it possible to automate CHKDSK?

http://216.239.41.104/search?q=cache...e+chkdsk&hl=en

See for reference:

An Explanation of the New /C and /I Switches That Are Available to Use with
Chkdsk.exe

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=314835

I prefer chkdsk /r as the most effective chkdsk and as to defrag, I think
you help yourself considerably if you spring for a third party defrag like
Exec Soft's Diskeeper or Raxco's Perfect Disk. It will be well worth the
cost in performance inpromvement and functionality, and you can easily
defrag the MFT and the Page File. The defragger native to XP is a watered
down one made by Exec Soft for Microsoft.
