Sure, right click start and select properties. Click customize and go to the
advanced tab. Look in the start menu items window and place a check next to
favorites menu.

Pauline--

This is one way that should work, or just did for me.

1) You may have to first Unhide hidden files and folders to get to it.

Simply open Explorer or any folderToolsFolder OptionsViewUnhide Hidden
files and folders or another way to get there is to hit the Windows Key +
"R" and put "control folders in the run box.

2) Your favorites folder is at C:\Documents and Settings\User Name(Pauline
or Whichever)\Favorites

3) Right Click Drag it to your desktop--hold down the right mouse and drag
it then release it onto the desktop. This will copy it to your desktop.
You could also right click "Send to Desktop."

4) Then left click drag it to your start menu. If you want it to have the
star icon, just right clickpropertieschange iconselect the star or
whatever icon you want.

5) I find it helpful with all my folders to use the ViewArrange Icons
by*Show in Groups* view because it confers an alphabetical book index
organizational scheme to my folders, and works particularly well when you
duplicate or relocate the favorites folder.

Additional information you may find helpful in using Favorites:

1) From Kelly's Excellent Site:

Favorites Folder Location and Saving Tips for Windows XP

http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_favorites.htm

2) FAVORITES HOME PAGE by Robert Rimes Perry

This confers a webpage hyperlink functionality to your favorites, and
doesn't impact the default Favorties list at all. I find it very helpful.
